Biochemistry science involves studies regarding various chemical reaction changes occurring in cells – such as various reactions in protein synthesis, food substances conversion to energy, and genetic trait transmission. As the basis to learn them, a proper understanding is needed regarding the structure and function of important biomolecules, namely: protein, carbohydrate, lipid and nucleic acid. After having such knowledge, a number of metabolism reactions and the important pathways involved in energy metabolism could be learned.

This website is designated as a communication media for the society in knowing Biochemistry science and the Department of Biochemistry in Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). In the future the website is also expected to be able to fulfill the students and the society academic needs through online class that is still being developed in the meantime. The effort is conducted to develop Biochemistry as a basic science to help understanding various sciences in agriculture (in a broad since), health, bioindustry, and environment.

This website is still far from perfect; therefore, endless improvement of materials and presentation would be conducted. A reward is bestowed to all writers that have contributed their writings amidst their tight schedule in university education.
